Half Share Options

1:  The standard way is to purchase a 1/2 share and pick up a farm box every other week.

2:  Share a share with someone and divide the box.  This gets you fresh veggies every week, saves you money, and may solve the "I like peppers and you like chard" dilemma. We will treat you as one member.  You will give us one check, and you duke it out over who gets what.

3:  Share a share and alternate pick-up weeks.  This week for me, next week for you, etc.  Same rules as above.

4:  Buy a full share and "put up" half of it for later.  Fresh frozen food has more nutritional value than "fresh" food that you buy in the winter, which may have come from another continent and been stored for weeks.  Many people have become excited about the possibilities of either blanch and freeze, or prepare twice as much and freeze half of the meal for later.  It's great to have some instant summer in January. Or strawberries on your ice cream on Labor Day.

And here's a feel-good suggestion.  Buy a share and share it with some special friends or someone less fortunate.  We all know the little old lady who used to garden and would love a fresh bunch of greens or a real tomato.  At Dennison's Family Farms (DFF), we donate a lot of what we can't sell to the elderly and consider it a blessing to be able to do so. They have done a lot for us.
